Czech visual artist David Černý became an overnight sensation in the spring of 1991 when he and some friends painted a Soviet tank in a thick coat of shocking pink. The tank, long kept at a military museum, will make a comeback on June 20, on a floating pontoon by the Vltava river, moored between Střelecký ostrov and Smetanovo nábřeží. It’s all part of the newly launched “Week of Freedom” project.
