WikiLeaks: A breakdown of Czech sources cited by the US Embassy in Prague

Czech Position analyzed the WikiLeaks documents coming out of the US embassy in Prague to find out who American diplomats were relying on to help them understand the intricacies of Czech politics, business and corruption. The outcome was fairly clear cut and revealing with centrist opinion favored and socialists scoring well among those sought after for comments and interpretation.

Wikileaks: Czechs blocked US attempt to buy Russian missiles from Belarus

The independent Belarusian Internet news server www.naviny.by published three diplomatic cables sent from the US Embassy in Prague in March and April 2005, according to which the US Navy wanted to purchase Russian missiles from Belarus via the Ukraine and Czech Republic. The cables, published Jan 19, were passed to the news site by Israel Shamir, Wikileaks’ partner for Russia.

WikiLeaks cable reveals strategic Czech document

An October 2009 diplomatic cable published by WikiLeaks shows that discussions concerning US–Czech strategic cooperation stalled because the roadmap being prepared was too narrowly focused. Former Foreign Minister Jan Kohout told Czech Position that he had hoped to expand bilateral cooperation.
