Prague bourse launches START for small caps

The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) has established a loosely regulated market for small caps, called START, which aims to attract small- and medium-sized companies with lower reporting and listing requirements than needed for companies trading on the main PX Index.

Hungary’s Equilor enters Prague bourse

As a further step in its regional expansion policy, Hungary’s Equilor Investment has become the first “purely foreign” remote member of the Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) following its joining the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) in the spring. As of July 1, Equilor also became a participant in the Prague bourse’s Central Securities Depository, a prerequisite for the successful launch of trading on the BCPP.

Sham: ČNB investigation into Key Investments yields no results a year on

The miner Sokolovská uhelná invested around Kč 50 mln with brokerage Key Investments, but upon closing its account it received just Kč 4.9 million. Key Investments bought bonds in Spolchemie with the miner’s cash; the same bonds are in the portfolios of several Prague districts. Sokolovská uhelná claims the Czech National Bank (ČNB) has failed its legal duty by not properly investigating the dubious brokerage.
