Siemens and Arab sheik among recipients of Czech EU grants

Czech state-controlled power major, German multinational giant Siemens, Škoda Auto and ArcelorMittal are among the large corporations which have received EU funds allocated to the Czech Republic within the framework of various EU programs. Siemens for example has received Kč 326 million since 2007 towards its operations in the Czech Republic, the daily Lidové noviny (LN) reported Friday.

Steelmaker Třinecké železárny ends another year in red

In its annual report for 2010, Třinecké železárny – Moravia Steel group has posted a loss of Kč 632 million for 2010. The loss was around Kč 100 million less than in the previous year and the company was again the largest Czech producer of raw steel.
