Ex-Czech state roads manager faces child porn charges: Právo

During a search of the home of Michal Hala, former managing director of the Roads and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) state agency, police discovered CDs and DVDs containing child pornography, the daily Právo reported Tuesday. Hala was charged with three others last December on suspicion of renting plots of land adjacent to motorways at knock-down prices in exchange for kick backs.

‘Political bomb’ in police safe, Czech daily reports

Several days before Christmas, police arrested three former top officials with the Roads and Motorways directorate (ŘSD), the state agency that coordinates construction and maintenance of the Czech roads network, on charges of corruption. On Friday, the daily Právo reported that during a search of the home of ex-ŘSD manager Michal Hala, police found a well-hidden list of politicians in receipt of kickbacks.

Highway robbery: ŘSD money trail leads to Cyprus

Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with alleged rigged land leases and other corrupt deals arranged by current and former top officials at the Czech Roads and Motorways Directorate (ŘSD), the business daily Hospodářské noviny (HN) reported on Tuesday.

3 roads directorate managers charged with corruption named

The daily Hospodářské noviny (HN) reported Friday that former top manager of the Roads and Motorways directorate (ŘSD) Michal Hala, and former ŘSD lawyer Robert Wolf have been charged with corruption together with the agency’s former boss Laušman following their arrest last week in connection with renting out state-owned land plots at knockdown rates in return for kickbacks.
