Board shake-up seeks to stem battle at state brewer Budvar

A series of changes have been agreed between Czech PM Petr Nečas and Farm Minister Petr Bendl aimed at depoliticizing the supervisory board of state brewery Budějovický Budvar. Changes at the top of the brewer and stepped up ministry checks sparked suspicions that politicians were paving the way for business interests to boost their influence over strategic decisions at the state-controlled company.
