Czech football manager blocked from Slovak top job

A Slovak raid to claim top Czech football manager Pavel Vrba as the manager of the national team has been repulsed. Club bosses at reigning Czech champions Viktoria Plzeň say will not be allowing the manager to end his contract early to take up the job and say the decision sends a clear signal that it wants to continue in its current path.

Czech football ‘manager of year’ taking top Slovak spot

All that stands in the way of top Czech football manager Pavel Vrba accepting an offer to take charge of the Slovak national team is the agreement of his current club, Viktoria Plzeň, with reports saying that basic terms and conditions have been settled. Vrba had apepared to be the logical sucessor to the current Czech national manager if everything goes wrong at Euro 2012.

Czech World Cup football star faces fraud charges

Former 1990 football world cup star, Czechoslovak and Czech striker Tomáš Skuhravý, is reported to be facing fraud charges prepared by the police after they broke up of a luxury car-theft ring last year. The police case against Skuhravý is said to have been completed while those against fellow suspects are still proceeding.

Manager of Czech league champs sought as Slovakia coach

Viktoria Plzeň manager Pavel Vrba is the first choice of the Slovak football federation to become manager of the national team. Vrba, is said to be interested, but Plzeň are still in the Europa League and he is unlikely to be freed for the post before the end of the season.
