Now is the season of Czechs’ discontent; protests will resolve nothing

The anti-government Week of Protests, held under the banner of the Holešov Appeal, culminates on Saturday (April 21) with a demonstration on Wenceslas Square in downtown Prague called by the biggest Czech trade union. They hope to squash the austerity package, which the center-right coalition has failed to explain intelligibly to the people it will hurt most, writes commentator Petr Nováček.
