A guide to how ordinary Ostrava citizens know their city will be part of the results of the four-year project

A four-year project being led by an Ostrava University professor is seeking to map out the colloquial names given to city center and village sites and streets in and around the country’s third-biggest city with a view to finding how they got their unofficial names. The project, funded by the Ministry of Culture, is eventually due to expand to cover the centers of all major Czech cities.
