Hanging effigies appeared around Prague on Monday in what appears to be a protest by a group highlighting the growing number of suicides brought about by economic causes. The group says suicide is increasingly the last option for the  unsucessful in a society which judges earning power and economic success as the main criteria of a person's worth. Suicides have been rising slightly since the low of 2007 but no figures for 2011 are yet available.
