Ladislav Bátora, via the ultra-conservative civic initiative D.O.S.T., has spoken out against ODS members’ and ambassadors’ support for the Prague Pride 2011 gay pride festival and parade. He called TOP 09’s chairman Karel Schwarzenberg a sputtering ‘sorry little old man’ on Facebook.

The Civic Democrats (ODS) have called for their warring coalition partners TOP 09 and Public Affairs (VV) to come to their senses in an escalating row that it threatening to topple the Czech government. ODS leaders said it was irresponsible that a row sparked by comments by the controversial VV Education Minister political appointee Ladislav Bátora should put the center-right government’s continued existence in question.
