Czech Egyptologist: Ancient Egyptian sites damaged during unrest

The extent of the thefts and damage is still unknown, but it is certain to affect the future of Egyptology, Prof. Bárta says

Egyptian heritage sites are under threat. Gangs of thieves have raided ancient Egyptian sites in Giza, Abusir and Saqqara, Professor Miroslav Bárta says in an exclusive report for Czech Position, noting that archeological finds in the pyramid field of Abusir, uncovered by Czech expeditions over the past 50 years, were also targeted.
