Czech jobless unchanged at 8.2% in August
Czech unemployment stood at 8.2% in August, unchanged from July, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs
Czech unemployment in August stayed unchanged at July’s figure of 8.2%, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Thursday. It said the number of jobless seeking work stood at 481,535, a fall of 4,049 compared with July.
There are currently 11.8 jobless people on average for every vacancy, a slight improvement on the previous ratio of 12.5 unemployed for every place following a 4.8% rise in vacancies to 40,785, the ministry added.

The Czech jobless rate for men improved in August by 0.1 percentage point to 6.8% but worsened for women by the same figure to stand at 10%.
The ministry expects little change in the overall jobless picture in September. Czech unemployment has fallen from the 9.6% announced in December 2010 as the export oriented economy picks up.
