Most Czechs are concerned that powerful forces manipulate media information — and a large minority embraces conspiracy theories

Of all the popular conspiracies, Czechs are most interested in the ones concerning space aliens at Area 51

The vast majority of Czechs don’t believe that powerful government and private groups always tell the truth about important events, and often intentionally mislead the public. This opens the door for alternative explanations and conspiracy theories. The most popular ones involve Area 51 and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. But even the old idea that the moon landing was a hoax is still supported by one-fifth of people.
