Good intentions not enough at Starsano

Self-service restaurant Starsano has a promising concept to move beyond fast food, but some items fall short of expectations

Food is served cafeteria style — but unlike in fast food restaurants, customers pay later

The newly opened Mediterranean cafeteria-style restaurant Starsano aims to bring a little bit of la dolce vita to Prague’s center. It does partially succeed, but the concept and execution have a few shortcomings. The mass produced furniture certainly won’t impress your date and the prices — given that it is self-service — won’t lure in budget-conscious diners. That said, the ingredients all seemed fresh and the cakes were true winners.

Lunch Prices

Sorry - but you fail to mention that Starsano IS cheap at lunch, if you stick to the set menu, which is not at all bad.  The pizzas are some of the best I've had in Prague; so for 97czk you are getting a bargain of soup and pizza, or soup and fresh pasta etc.  In addition to that, you also have a jug of water on every table, something which should be normal in every restaurant, IMHO.

Finally, what I like the most, is that if there is ever a problem, speak to the staff and give them advice.  The boss there is young and open to ideas, and wants feedback.  The great thing is that you can tell he has listened when you go back.

As you can probably tell, I'm a regular, but to be honest, I would rather spend 97czk on their healthy lunch menus, then kill myself in the fat soak mush that Deminka and co serve...
