Karel Roden (right) finds himself at the center of events in ‘Lidice,’ based on a true story of a massacre in World War II

Almost 70 years after it happened, the story of the 1942 Nazi massacre at Lidice comes to the screen. The film ‘Lidice’ emphasizes the human drama behind the events, with a series of typical small-town incidents building up into a tragedy that shocked the world. According to producer Adam Dvořák, the film is essentially a love story.

Subtitles

A big thank you to whoever is reponsible for getting English subtitles onto the trailer!  An already powerful (and cinematically impressive) trailer has been made much more emotionally powerful by the addition of these. Thank you!

Missing information...

Over and over articles are posted here about czech movies without information on where (or if) it is playing with english subtitles. This is an english language site and it would be very helpful if this information is included in your articles.

For anyone wondering,  Lidice is currently playing at Cinestar Andel with english subtitles.

Trailer

Really interesting review, makes me want to see the film even more, but it's a bit disappointing that the embedded trailer doesn't have subtitles.
