Cristina Muntean, a media advisor and trainer with Media Education CEE was elected this January the first chairwoman of the Marketing Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Prague (AmCham).
“The key word for marketing and PR people in 2012 is efficiency. I strongly believe that good communication professionals belong on the boards of companies where they can influence strategic decision-making hand in hand with the CEO. This is why I am proud and grateful that my colleagues at AmCham believe in my vision and trusted me with their vote,” Muntean said in a press release.
Muntean, a former business journalist, covered topics ranging from human resources (HR) to the automotive, energy and financial sectors for the now defunct Czech Business Weekly before establishing Media Education CEE, a premium communication advisory, in August 2010. She also helped launch the news portal Czech Position, for which she writes the “Premium Reputation” blog.
From PR Klub to AmCham
AmCham has six “Best Office” committees: HR, IT, Finance, Real Estate, Marketing and CSR. The Marketing Committee has about 15 members. Its goal for 2012 is to attract more member engagement and to organize training and networking events that fully answer AmCham members’ communication needs.
In the Czech Republic, AmCham gathers together about 450 corporate members. For Muntean, the election as chairwoman of the AmCham Marketing Committee is the second public recognition in less than a year. In May 2011 she was elected president of the board ofthe Czech PR Klub.
Currently, the PR Klub counts 110 members. It focuses on providing a quality training and networking platform for PR, social media, marketing and other communicationprofessionals in the Czech Republic.
“There are synergies that can be achieved from bringing together the buoyant activity of the PR Kluband the innovative long-term thinking of AmCham. It’s an honor to be able to link these two reputableinstitutions and contribute to generating fresh know-how that I’m sure will take the Czech PR marketone step forward,” Muntean said.
