The Kč 50 note had been slowly withdrawn from circulation, with no new ones being printed since 2007

The Kč 50 banknote ceases to be valid as of April 1, 2011. Over the years, the various versions of the bill have sported designs by famous artists including Alfons Mucha, Max Švabinský and Josef Manes. The current design is by Oldřich Kulhánek, a dissident illustrator who was tried in the 1970s for his unflattering sketches of Josef Stalin.
