Headhunters want tender for new Prague DPP boss scrapped

Tender to fill top post at Prague’s public transport firm DPP appears on the wrong tracks, should be halted before doing more damage

The scandals surrounding Prague’s public transport company DPP have been so great of late it was a relief when Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS) promised a professional headhunter would be enlisted to help fill the vacant CEO post. That tender appears to have been way off track with some top personnel companies calling for it to be abandoned before Svoboda finds himself with too many explanations to make.

M3’s Maxim Behar named chairman of Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Czech office

Maxim Behar, a prominent Bulgarian PR and social media specialist has been named chairman of Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Czech office. He will remain CEO and board chairman of the Bulgarian company he founded, M3 Communications Group, Inc., which is an affiliate of Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

ČEZ replacing head of coal miner SD

Czech electricity producer ČEZ will replace Jan Demjanovič, the CEO of its mining subsidiary Severočeské doly (SD), in a move that local press are speculating stems from his close ties with ex-PM Mirek Topolánek; in recent months, the current head of government, Petr Nečas, has been actively purging Prague-listed ČEZ and its subsidiaries of “old guard” elements of the party.

ČEZ appoints head of new strategy division

ČEZ's hitherto head of asset management, Pavel Cyrani, will become the new head of its strategy division, created to help the state-controlled power giant steer its way through ever greater uncertainty in the European and global power sector. The new division will help back up the blue sky piloting previously performed by trading director Alan Svoboda.

TPCA gets new executive vice president

Patrice Le Guyader will take over as executive vice president of Kolín, Central Bohemia-based carmaker Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile Czech as of July 1, 2011, as part of a regular rotation of personnel. He will replace Bernard Million-Rousseau, who is returning to PSA Peugeot Citroën — one of the partners in the joint venture with Toyota — after the more than three years in TPCA.

Jan Klouda named General Counsel at Vodafone CR

Jan Klouda (35) has been named the new General Counsel at Vodafone Czech Republic. Together with his legal team, he will be responsible for supporting the company’s activities, especially the continued growth in providing ICT solutions. Klouda joined Vodafone in 2007 as Director of Legal Affairs.

The Augustine Hotel gets a new general manager

Ken Dittrich, has been appointed general manager of the five-star Augustine Hotel Prague, part of the Rocco Forte hotel chain. His last position was at Corinthia Hotel in St. Petersburg, Russia, which he joined in March 2010. Dittrich, a native of Wuppertal, Germany, studied hotel business administration at the Heidelberg Hotel School.

DTZ announces two new appointments

Lenka Vodrážková was promoted to head of property management at the Prague office of international property consultancy DTZ. She replaces Martin Kubík, who left the company at the end of April. Glasgow native Simon Orr is the newest member of the office agency department, led by Bert Hesselink. Orr has been involved in both the Czech and British property market for some 10 years.
