The so-called Ostrama lagoons near the center of the Czech industrial city of Ostrava are notorious as one of the Czech Republic’s worst examples of pollution. Polish authorities are now claiming that some of the toxic sludge from the three lagoons has been shipped across the border and should be immediately returned to the sender.
